LATEST NEWS

Dear Friends,

There are so many fundamental decisions that must be made in America to move us forward as a free, safe, and patriotic nation! I'm thankful tonight for what feels like a new beginning as we seize opportunities to help put America on the right path.

It's November 16th, and I've finished my book. I've told my story of how I got to where I am, and now I'm eager to move forward. And I want you to join me on the road ahead!

Our nation is at a critical crossroads, but the way forward is clear. Ronald Reagan showed us the way. He entered office during an economic recession even worse than our current one, but he left office after overseeing the largest peacetime economic expansion in American history. His policies worked! He charted the course for us.

C. S. Lewis once wrote: "We all want progress, but if you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road." We need to get back on the right road. In order to progress, we must return to our founding principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and strong national defense.

SarahPAC is dedicated to this!

We're going to work as Commonsense Conservatives for everyday, hardworking Americans by tackling issues that you care about and by helping candidates who will stand up for our nation. We'll help candidates (regardless of party) who have the courage to go to Washington or serve statewide and make the tough decisions needed to get our country back on track.

We can't do this alone - this effort needs good, commonsense Americans now more than ever. Please click here if you can assist with SarahPAC today.

SarahPAC supporters make it possible to get out there and fight for what we believe in. Please stand with us today. We won't let anyone tell us to sit down and shut up. We're going to stand up, stand together, and fight for what's right!

Thank you so much for your support and for your love of our country. My book, Going Rogue, is dedicated to you - to Patriots - who fight for freedom!

With an Alaska Heart,

Sarah Palin

P.S. We are going to be all across the country in the next few weeks. If you're able to contribute, click the button to go back to the SarahPAC homepage to see the schedule.

P.P.S. Any level of support is welcome! Our Commonsense Conservative cause needs you. As a special offer, on behalf of SarahPAC, we will send you a signed copy of Going Rogue for any donation of $100 or more.

Please know how grateful I am for your support.

Goal: 1m FaceBook Supporters, $10 per donor

FaceBook Sarah Palin Campaigns

Goal: 1 million supporters.

Please get the message out to anyone who supports Governor Palin but is not yet doing so on Facebook or does not yet have a Facebook account. Facebook is currently Governor Palin's online base of operations.

http://www.facebook.com/sarahpalin

"I'm in for $10 for Sarah Palin"

A number of Governor Palin's supporters on FaceBook are running a campaign called “I’m In for $10.” When the number of Governor Palin’s Facebook supporters reaches 1 million, we donate at least $10 to SarahPAC or the The Alaska Fund Trust.

All donations are to be made directly to the respective sites. "I'm in for $10" focuses generally on SarahPAC; however, The Alaska Fund Trust should be part of our efforts. The crux of "I'm in for $10" is that all the donations are timed to take place on the day Governor Palin acquires her 1 millionth supporter.

Gov. Palin Picks Pam Pryor for Spokeswoman

According to Mike McCarville, reporter for Tulsa Today, Governor Palin has chosen Pam Pryor to speak to the media on her behalf (McCarville, 2009, ¶2-3).

"A member of [Governor] Palin's team in 2008 says that Pryor today is '[Governor] Palin's 'go-to girl. If Sarah has a doubt about anything, she talks to Pam. If Sarah wants to do something, she talks to Pam. Pam is a solid lock in [Governor] Palin's future.' " (McCarville, 2009, ¶4).

McCarville devoted the remainder of the article Ms. Pryor's biography and credentials.

Ms. Pryor "was named one of the 100 most powerful women in Washington by Washingtonian Magazine" (McCarville, 2009, ¶7). She has a solid background in college teaching and instruction, and broadcast media having been TV news anchor and reporter, as well as having a radio talk show in Oklahoma City (McCarville, 2009, ¶5). Ms. Pryor was Congressman J.C. Watts' press secretary (McCarville, 2009, ¶6), was responsible for GOP House communications (McCarville, 2009, ¶7), has had several public relations and communication clients under her consultancy including the RNC (McCarville, 2009, ¶8-9), and is a solid evangelical (McCarville, 2009, ¶10-11).

Commentary:

A leader is ultimately only as good as his or her reports. Governor Palin understands this fully and has a solid track record of making sound hiring decisions. This could not be more clear than when she held office and made 123 appointments during her final seven months. It was in fact, Governor Palin's hiring decisions that permitted her to leave office knowing that her vision and agenda would continue on. Her hiring decisions are why the decision to leave was prima facie brilliant. The choice of Ms. Pryor to serve as a spokeswoman is yet another example of a sound hiring decision made by a seasoned executive and Transformational Leader.

Cash is King. The King Supports Gov. Palin. Donate to AK Fund Trust and SarahPAC on July 26

The blog publisher was part of an email thread in which the question was posed: "what is the best way to show Governor Palin we love and support her on July 26 when she leaves office?"

The answer to that question is very simple. Are you fed up and disgusted with the gross abuse of the ethics complaint process that Governor Palin was subjected to. Express it and show your love and support by clicking the image below and contributing up to the $150 legal maximum. If 2,500 people donate $150, these legal bills are finished with.

What if you have already reached your legal maximum at the Alaska Fund Trust?

Do something that will help Governor Palin get her message out on energy independence, peace through strength, and small federal government. Click the image below to donate to SarahPAC.

Donate to SarahPAC

Better yet -- donate to both!

If you are going to spend any money in support of Governor Palin, both the Alaska Fund Trust and SarahPAC are THE places to do it.

On July 26, Governor Palin will consummate the choice she made in her time of choosing. Now it's our time of choosing. Let's show Governor Palin that we are her wing men and women as she enters into this supersonic vertical climb. Let's give her the fuel she needs to it.

Remember. Cash is king. The king supports the Governor in everything she does. Let's send the king to the Governor by clicking those images above.

Memorandum

From: Meghan Stapleton, SarahPAC
To: SarahPAC Supporters

Greetings from Alaska where the fish are running and the sun is shining late!

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to spend time with Governor Palin as we visited Central New York, Manhattan, Long Island, Washington, D.C. and Texas.

It never ceases to amaze me that every time we travel together, virtually every moment of her time is spent talking to and caring for others, while listening to and learning from them as well - like brave, young Robert whose life we celebrated at the Autism Speaks Walk or the historical voices of the strong men and women upon whose shoulders we stand, including Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony and former Secretary William H. Seward.

Below, I attached a quick note from the Governor which she penned before leaving the country last week. I am attaching it to this memo because I am asking you to help Governor Palin and SarahPAC today!

You have been so incredibly supportive and generous, and now we ask you again for your help - and we ask that you please also encourage your friends and family to give.

SarahPAC needs to be in the position to help fund candidates who are going to fight for what we all believe - smaller government, less spending, and fewer taxes. With your help, we can take the Governor's message and encourage others who also have hope and are firmly rooted in the conservative belief that you know how best to spend your money and not government.

SarahPAC can't do that without your help. Please visit this link and give to SarahPAC today - and encourage others to do so as well.

Sincerely,
Meghan Stapleton
SarahPAC

P.S. Please give before June 30th. Your help is critical. Visit this link to give!

Dear SarahPAC Supporter:

I wanted to drop you a quick note about my trip earlier this month - a whirlwind tour and an opportunity to share a bit more about Alaska. (I am writing this before heading overseas to visit our Troops; I know that will be a most inspiring journey!)

It is such a treat to talk to everyone about Alaska and hear stories of fishing, hunting, and camping. And it thrills me to hear from those who wish to visit our beautiful state! Alaska has much to offer - from her magnificent glaciers to her abundant natural resources to fuel our homes and businesses.

When we travel outside Alaska, the hospitality is always overwhelming, and Todd and I so enjoyed meeting many new people on our recent trip to the Lower 48 - all emblematic of so many across this country who are willing to give of time, energy and effort to help one another.

It was thrilling to see the look on both young and old faces as I traveled to New York, Washington, D.C. and Texas. Words can never express the incredible spirit of all those who dedicate their lives to making even one life more comfortable.

Todd and I always recognize how grateful and proud we are to be citizens of the United States. We are so very blessed.

With an Alaska Heart,

Sarah Palin

AK Governor Sarah Palin on the Obama Presidency

Following is Governor Palin's statement in its entirety:

The transition from Candidate Obama to President Obama has been as predictable as Alaska's winter snow (Palin, 2009, ¶1).

We are now witnessing actions that will lead to a monumental shift away from free market capitalism and the strong work ethic that built this great country. 'Change' in this administration has meant rapid movement toward massive government growth, huge tax burdens on future generations, and an unprecedented reliance upon foreign countries (Palin, 2009, ¶2).

Today, we learned that Obama’s decisions continue to impact Alaskans; while we as taxpayers now own General Motors, Obama closes another dealership – this time in Soldotna as more of Alaskans’ hard-earned money and jobs are lost to big government. Government should not be in the auto industry business. In Alaska, we have also seen a shift in federal priorities that threaten the loss of subsidized village health care services under the same candidate who led you to believe he'd insure all Americans. The inconsistent messages and actions are unsettling (Palin, 2009, ¶3).

But we have another voice in Washington, DC – a man who understands what Alaskans believe: less centralized government control, restrained budgets, more opportunity for development, and fewer taxes. Today, we have a friend in RNC Chairman Michael Steele and his bold and courageous speech defines his leadership goals that will guide us all through this most difficult time for our nation” (Palin, 2009, ¶4).

AK Governor Sarah Palin Defends Carrie Prejean's Right to Free Speech

By now, we should be familiar with the Carrie Prejean story. Briefly, Ms. Prejean was asked about her position on gay marriage when competing for the Miss USA crown. She currently holds the Miss California crown. Her expressed opposition to gay marriage is reputed to have cost her the Miss USA title and ignited a firestorm of controversy surrounding that beauty contest

In a statement released May 13, 2009 on the SarahPAC website, Governor Palin said,

The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable (Palin, 2009, ¶1).

Carrie and I spoke soon after the attacks started; I can relate as a liberal target myself. What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe - marriage is between a man and a woman (Palin, 2009, ¶2).

I applaud Donald Trump for standing with Carrie during this time. And I respect Carrie for standing strong and staying true to herself, and for not letting those who disagree with her deny her protection under the nation's First Amendment Rights (Palin, 2009, ¶3).

Our Constitution protects us all - not just those who agree with the far left (Palin, 2009, ¶4).

Commentary

Kudos to Governor Palin for speaking out in defense of Carrie Prejean. Governor Palin also aptly pointed out the irony surrounding this issue. The only leaders further to the left than Obama are the Castro brothers and Hugo Chavez -- and he's not too far removed from them policy-wise. Yet, Obama has stated he is against gay marriage. This begs the question: why is it OK for him, but not for Carrie Prejean?

Political correctness (PC) is a cancer that is destroying the fabric of our country. PC is not government censorship, but rather it is private censorship and a particularly dangerous form of "group-think." PC addresses -- or more rather -- fails to address uncomfortable subject matter either by burying it or by establishing a single position which is sanctioned or approved -- correct. In the case of the Miss USA contest, the only approved or correct position regarding gay marriage is to support it.

PC often starts out with good intentions -- eliminating stereotypes, prejudices, and biases. But PC immediately becomes the thing it hates, for PC is by definition intolerant of any opinion except the "correct" one. We see it every day in all walks of life. PC is not just about politics and political parties. PC affects all subject matter. So long as an "incorrect" or unapproved opinion can result in negative consequences, you are subjected to PC.

The purpose of a beauty contest (which by definition is subjective -- beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder) is to set a standard of perfection as regards physical feminine beauty. The contestant who best meets that standard wins. A contestant's opinion on gay marriage -- for or against -- should not influence the outcome of the contest one way or the other. If the opinions had been reversed -- that is Prejean for gay marriage and the judge against it -- denying her the crown based on the difference of opinion would have been equally wrong.

Every human being has opinions on a wide range of subjects. In the 21st Century we should be now be able to work, and associate with those whose opinions differ from our own. This author is married to a woman who does not like Governor Palin and also has a co-worker/friend who is an Obama supporter. While this author vehemently disagrees with them, he respects their right to their opinions. The old saw, "I may disagree with you, but I would die for your right to express your opinion" is apropos here.
