The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, Wasilla's hometown newspaper yesterday reviewed Our Sarah: Made in Alaska. Reporter Robert DeBerry interviewed Chuck Heath Sr. and Jr. in the elder Heath's home. DeBerry wrote,
"For
starters, it is a more intimate and inside look at Sarah Palin, her
family and what shaped her growing up in Alaska. According to Chuck
Heath Sr., 'it’s the true Sarah Palin as told by others.'
'Basically
it tells the true story, not from Chuck and not from me, but other
people,' he said. 'What they have seen. What they have experienced
growing up with her.'
DeBerry recounted how the book
originated, the approach the Heaths took to writing it, and the learning
experiences father and son had both in authoring the book and on the
book tour as they roomed together for three weeks. Chuck Heath Sr. said
he enjoyed writing about family hunting and fishing trips, but writing
about his childhood was painful. He said he wrote about it, because he
did not want similar things to happen to any of his children.
For Alaskans, Our Sarah is sold in Costco and select Carrs/Safeway stores, DeBerry wrote. The Heaths are signing copies at the Wasilla Mocha Moose tomorrow at 10 AM AKST, and Mocha Moose will also be selling copies of the book.
