Schmidt Pals Around with Obama

Conservatives4Palin editor and US for Palin author Stacy Drake yesterday published her analysis of how the detestable Steve Schmidt has been palling around with Obama and members of his administration since 2010.

Schmidt and his sidekick Nicolle Wallace were entrusted with ensuring the success of the Vice Presidential portion of the McCain-Palin 2008 campaign. Instead, Schmidt made critical mistakes, then devised an elaborate scheme to foist blame upon former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who was McCain's running mate. The HBO fictional movie, Game Change is entirely based on the accounts provided by Schmidt and Wallace in an effort to save their hides and political reputations.

Drake wrote:

In an article published [yesterday] in the New York Times (“Fashion & Style” section), he continued his quest to scapegoat his own poor decision-making in 2008 (like telling McCain to suspend his campaign during the financial crisis), and his need for relevancy within political circles, albeit now only with those who reside on the left.

The writer who Schmidt sat down with to continue his lucrative charade, is a man by the name of Adam Nagourney. Nagourney was on the list of approved “influential reporters” Schmidt’s associates wanted to use in the wake of the outcome in 2008 to help him save his reputation, as revealed by the “Schmidt memos,” published by Politico last March. So, it makes sense that Schmidt felt comfortable using this particular reporter for this purpose.

Drake continues:

In the article, Schmidt and his trusted reporter repeat the same garbage he sold to the writers of ‘Game Change,’ by claiming that it was Schmidt’s advice to bring Governor Palin onto the ticket that lead to McCain’s loss. His routine of acting like he feels guilty because selecting Governor Palin was a “calamitous political judgment,” is disingenuous and callous. He feigns humility, while using lies to shift the blame to the Governor for his own failure. He really is a disgusting individual.

The article also highlights how Schmidt’s little game is starting to pay him big dividends, and making him a friend to those on the left, including the Obama White House (emphasis):

Other advisers to Mr. McCain have scurried into obscurity. By contrast, Mr. Schmidt — television commentator and public relations executive, delivering speeches and wisdom on the politics of the day — has a higher profile than ever, and stands as evidence that there may be little cost to being associated with a losing campaign and a disastrous political misjudgment, as Mr. Schmidt now describes the Palin selection.

Mr. Schmidt, who walked the red carpet at the Washington and New York openings of HBO’s “Game Change,” has become a minor celebrity in nonpolitical circles: Mr. Harrelson, in an interview last week, described him as a “buddy” and recounted how he persuaded Mr. Schmidt to be his date to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in April, and to the exclusive pre- and after-parties, no matter that the night happened to fall on Mr. Schmidt’s wedding anniversary.

“We went everywhere together,” Mr. Harrelson said. “We would be at a party, and people would say to me, ‘You know the guy you played is over there.’ And I was like ‘Yeah, I know. I came with him.’ At this point, I feel quite fond of him.”

Mr. Schmidt is the vice chairman for public affairs of one of the world’s biggest public relations firms, Edelman. He is a regular commentator on MSNBC, which has installed a remote camera in his sprawling rustic home. He is quoted on TV and in newspapers, including The New York Times.

Mr. Schmidt even had lunch in the White House mess with David Plouffe, President Obama’s senior adviser who raves about his politics skills, and had his photograph taken with the president.

Drake requested the C4P readership to send the aforementioned photograph if it is located. She concluded:

This article may let Schmidt ramble on about his phony “regret,” but they also show how well Schmidt has made out by orchestrating this false reality to sell to liberals. They are eating up his lies, and he’s obviously eating well in exchange for his services.

Sarah Palin Radio Interviews Scientist, Father of six, for OR-4

Sarah Palin Radio

Dr. Robinson is an internationally renowned scientist and also the author of a popular home-school curriculum that he developed from home-schooling all six of his children by himself. FreedomWorks has called Dr. Robinson "the poster boy for uniting the GOP establishment and the Tea Party." The American Spectator magazine called him "not only a scientist but also a warrior."

Dr. Robinson is the founder of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, and the author of "Self-Teaching K through 12 Home-School Curriculum," which he developed while home-schooling his six children. He ran for OR-4 in 2010 and lost to the incumbent but immediately committed to running again in 2012. Dr. Robinson is running because he Congress is messing up his family just like everyone else's and he wants to do his part to fix the nation.

This time, Dr. Robinson has the experience and name recognition and the lessons he learned from 2010. He said an additional 5% to 6% over his prior 44% will result in a win. The incumbent has now been in office 26 years. Dr. Robinson's strategy to overcome the incumbent advantage is to educate the voters on how he is different from his opponent. Dr. Robinson's son, Matthew had run against the incumbent as a Democrat in a primary, because he did not want the incumbent running unopposed. Matthew got 20% of the vote.

Unifying Conservative Factions

Dr. Robinson is a registered Republican. In 2010, he had the nominations of the Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party, and the Independence Party in addition to his own. He has been endorsed by Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks, and various Tea Party organizations. Dr. Robinson said various groups have set aside their differences to help get him elected. He is not currently an American Grizzlies United supported candidate and has not been endorsed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Curzon asked him how it is possible to unite the Tea Party and the establishment. "People understand that we are all marching in the same direction. We have our differences, but the main thing is to preserve American liberty, and preserve American freedom. That is what we all have in common," he said. Dr. Robinson said the type of unity that is going on for his Congressional race can be replicated at the national level.

Economy a Fundamental Issue

He said the most critical issue in his district is the economy. Dr. Robinson said Congressional action destroyed a once thriving logging industry. He said the economy is a fundamental issue, because if it is broken, no other issues can be addressed, for they all require money to address them.

Environmental Special Interests Doing Harm

His position on Obama's "green policies," is that they are misguided, actually bad for the environment and bad for his constituents. He said Oregonians cherish their environment and "we are all environmentalists." Dr. Robinson said "it's people trading on the name 'environmentalism' who are causing harm."

He said the first thing he would do when sworn in is "go to work to do what the voters voted us in to do and that is to do everything we can to diminish the regulations, which are strangling our economy, to diminish the taxes which have been taking capital away from the private sector and to get the budget balanced and get our federal economic situation in order." His goal is to get the national debt to start decreasing "and stop being a burden on the back of the American worker."

Common Sense in 2012 and "Book Bombs"

He's written, "Common Sense in 2012," and his campaign plans to hold a "book bomb." The book is "about our nation, our liberties, the principles we stand on, and each of the issues we stand on which are important in this election." A "book bomb," is similar in principle to a money bomb. It's fund-raising activity so the book can be distributed to voters. The Robinson campaign has raised $170,000 via these "book bombs."

He said, "it isn't enough to run campaigns on bullet-point flyers and 30-second sound-bites. A poor candidate can hide behind good advertising. The idea is that the voters need more. They need in-depth knowledge about the candidate. And I think if you expect the voters to give you the privilege of serving them in Congress, it's not too much to ask for them to write extensively about what they would do and why, and how they view our nation."
