Gov. Palin Tells 10K in Lynchburg, VA Why She Put Family First

Photojournalist: Sally Delta, ABC 13, WSET, Lynchburg, VA

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin today explained to over 10,000 attendees of the Extraordinary Women Conference in Lynchburg, VA why she chose to place family ahead of political ambition, Sally Delta, ABC 13 reported. Gov. Palin reinforced her commitment to stay in politics and effectuate reform without an official title.

Gov. Palin said her years under the bright lights took their toll on her family and she wanted to re-establish normalcy in their lives. Team Sarah member Carolyn Dixon reported that she received a paraphrase in which Gov. Palin allegedly said, "you put your trust in me to run for president but you don't trust me when I seek God's direction on whether to run or not," about supporters who exploded in anger at her over the decision.

Many in the sold-out audience supported Gov. Palin's decision and agreed with it and many said she was the highlight of the entire day's event.

Gov. Palin Launches Sudden, Relentless Reform in St. Louis

Photo by Sid Hastings, St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The only way to defeat the crony capitalism and corporate welfare infesting both parties is "sudden and relentless reform," former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said last night in Glenn Beck's Defending the Republic event in St. Louis, Missouri, Mark Schlinkmann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Gov. Palin received standing ovations from the crowd of over 5,000.

Her 50-minute speech focused on over-spending; government picking winners and losers; pay-to-play; using stimulus funds to benefit donors; and bailouts for big business and Wall Street with the middle class paying the bill for it all. Following her speech, Gov. Palin took questions from the listeners of KFTK-FM, which sponsored her appearance.

While some in the audience were disappointed in Gov. Palin's decision to not run for President in the 2012 election, they supported her decision. Some are not supporting another candidate unless she endorses one. Many held out hope that she would run in 2016 or 2020.

Chuck Heath Jr.: Gov. Palin Considered till Very End

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's brother Chuck Heath, Jr. yesterday addressed her supporters on Conservatives4Palin's Bob and Mark comment thread. The complete transcript of his two comments follow:
I would like to personally thank all of you who have worked so hard and really thrown your hearts into supporting Sarah. I, like many of you, was really disappointed in her decision but I completely understand it. I don’t think there are many people out there who could begin to understand the scrutiny her family has been under. As for you who think that Sarah strung you along; as late as last week, right after I interviewed with Steve Bannon, I talked with Sarah and she was still pushing hard and contemplating a run. After a lot of prayers, and finally, through respect for her own family’s wishes, she chose to wait this one out.

Be assured that Sarah’s not done. She will continue to be a force in the political world and I’m sure she’ll be holding whoever’s elected in any important upcoming elections accountable for their actions. In my opinion, I believe she’ll arise again even stronger than before.

Please try to respect her decision, and once again, thank you so much for the support you’ve shown her.

Sincerely, Chuck Heath, Jr. Sarah’s brother

Thanks again for all you’re encouraging comments. You people found a common bond in your support of Sarah and the ideals she stands for and I’m sure the last thing Sarah would want is for her decision to divide you. As I said earlier, try to respect it. She will still be there fighting the good fight. Stay united and let’s get someone in there who will truly work for the people and right this sinking ship. Stay involved! We’re going to be okay.

When I said "No Matter What," I Meant It

Governor Palin:
Sarah,

I pledged to you in private correspondence, on this site, and in conversation that I would support and respect you no matter what path you choose - you are the pilot in command of your destiny. I meant it then, and I mean it now. My support was never conditioned on you running. I will always have your back; I will always guard your wings.

I trust in your decision-making process. A track record of nearly 100% is hard to beat. I know you had good reasons to not run - reasons that only you and your family are privy to - reasons that may become public, or may die with you.

Rest assured that US for Palin will always be here for you and your family. I will always be there as long I'm still alive and healthy.

Yes, I'll vote for whoever the GOP nominee is, but that will be the extent of my support of any of them. Great leaders come along only once in a lifetime, maybe two. When I need leadership and inspiration, I'll continue looking to Wasilla, not Washington, DC, and not to any of these 2012 candidates.

You have my complete and unconditional support. Always.

My compass is set to 340.

I await your orders.

Gov. Palin: Announces, NOT Running for POTUS on Mark Levin

This day at the eighteenth hour and the 17th minute, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced on Mark Levin's show that she would not be running for President in 2012. The complete transcript of her announcement as published on Mark Levin's page follows:

October 5, 2011
Wasilla, Alaska

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

– Sarah Palin

Erick Erickson, Get Over Yourself

Just for Erick Erickson and his crew at Red State, I present The World's Saddest Song played on the World's Smallest Violin.

Erickson's "P Day" has come and gone, but isn't he supposed to be posting every hour on the hour till she announces or was that only for "P Day"? In the course of all the excitement, I kind of lost track.

If Gov. Palin delays her announcement another two weeks that will be 336 posts he's got to crank out. If he links US for Palin prominently in every last one of them so much the better. Don't forget to link all the other pro-Palin sites out there. There's whole bunch of us in this Palin business and we all want good numbers.

He can call us a "cult," "nuts" or whatever. I couldn't care less, but I would have a major problem if calls any of us "late for dinner." The only people whose opinion on the timing of a Sarah Palin Presidential Campaign Announcement matters is Gov. Palin and her family. This point is completely lost on Erickson, Coulter, some supporters, and the establishment crowd which is 100% responsible for the mess our nation is in.

So, Erickson, keep that coffee pot topped off, keep banging those posts out, and keep the traffic coming. I'll keep the violin playing and have my nearest colleague shove a big Bermuda onion in my face so I can cry for you.
