BS Meme: "Take Back the 20" incited this violence by using cross hairs on its map."
Truth: The shooter is a hard-leftist whose favorite books are the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. Others shot by him in his deranged rampage included a federal judge appointed by George W. Bush, and a nine-year-old girl. The carnage resulted in 18 wounded and six dead. A second shooter may have been involved.
Tammy Bruce Talks To Rebecca Mansour – January 08 2011 retrieved from PalinTV
According to Rebecca Mansour, SarahPAC a professional graphic artist who is experienced in creating political graphics stated the cross hairs are actually surveyor's marks. Whether they are surveyor's marks or a cross hair reticle really makes no difference. "Take Back the 20" was an initiative to vote out Democratic congressmen and women in 20 districts where McCain-Palin won. These were the targeted districts. Take Back the 20 was highly successful, for 18 out of the 20 districts - 90% - resulted in the Democrat being voted out and a Gov. Palin endorsed candidate being voted in.
"Targeting" is a word used in politics and in marketing. Any political campaign worth its salt in either party will have a target list of election districts to walk and people to call. A political campaign is certainly not building a target list to shoot its own supporters or even its opponents. US 4 Palin as a website targets supporters of Gov. Palin - to read our site, buy our print-on-demand products, and buy products Gov. Palin has referenced or is known to use. A direct mail marketer will target a specific subset of people to send marketing materials to.
Merriam-Webster's definition 2D of "target" is a "goal to be achieved."
Gov. Palin made clear on numerous occasions when the whole "cross hair controversy" started 11 months ago that it was metaphor for the electoral process. Gov. Palin is easily the most scrutinized woman in the world today. She is a 2012 Presidential hopeful. To suggest that she is inciting or calling for the assassination of elected officials is beyond absurd.
BS Meme: SarahPAC scrubbed and sanitized all references to the cross hairs from their sites and scrubbed the Take Back the 20 Site.
Truth: "Take Back the 20" ceased being relevant on midnight of November 3, 2010. The site had served its purpose and achieved its goal with a 90% success rate as noted above. Websites cost money to operate and maintain. The contractor that handles SarahPAC's sites erred in leaving "Take Back the 20" up as long as it did. Why should SarahPAC continue financing an obsolete site - costs which would be borne by the donors?
BS Meme: "Sites like US 4 Palin incite violence. Look at that picture of her peering down a gun sight! Look at all those pictures of her shooting! Disgusting!"
US 4 Palin is a firm supporter of the Second Amendment - our right to keep and bear arms. The photo of Gov. Palin peering down an AimPoint Comp M2 mounted on an M-4 (it was actually a Meggit Systems simulator, which is designed for indoor use - no problems with lead, ricochets, etc.) was the first photo the publisher ever saw of her. Some hate mailers have "demanded" that we take it down. It will never come down. Nor will the Savage 7mm Remington Magnum Gov. Palin used to take a caribou, nor will the Mossberg 500 Special Tactical 12-gauge shotgun she bought to defend her camp against bears. While we can not speak for Tammy Bruce, we think it is safe to say that her snub-nose revolver will come down from her site when it's pried out of her cold, dead fingers.
By the way, if you want an AimPoint sight or an EOTech sight, we sell the full range of both at the North Star Group on Amazon. If you have questions about either of these fine manufacturers' products, please email publisher@us4palin.com and we'll be happy to assist you with your purchase.
Outlaw, Planes, Cars, and Gasoline?
Leftists love to spout the meme that responsible gun owners are the cause of mayhem. Many years ago, a jilted man killed nearly 100 people at the Happy Land Social Club, in the Bronx with one gallon of gasoline. Many people have been killed, injured, or left homeless in arson attacks. Oh, I forgot, the leftists want to outlaw gasoline too - it's not "green." 9/11 was committed with box cutters and airliners. Suicidal pilots have downed airliners - i.e. EgyptAir Flight 990. Deranged people have over the years crashed small planes into buildings. Other deranged people have mowed innocents down using cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
Leftists are the Ones Who Commit Acts of Violence
Of course, when Gov. Palin went caribou hunting on Sarah Palin's Alaska and her rifle lost its zero, these same gun haters suddenly became experts in critiquing her hunting and shooting skills. Yeah, right. Yet, leftists seem to have a knack for guns when it comes to their violence. Che Guevarra had no problem with guns, which he all too happily used to execute Castro's political prisoners. Nor did Hinkley or Lee Harvey Oswald - two leftists who carried out an assassination attempt and an assassination respectively. As Pamela Geller wrote, in Jared Loughner High School Pal Twitter Page Describes…
I strongly recommend that left wing defamers and smear merchants tamp down their evil rhetoric and false accusations. Left wing politicians blaming the tea party (before the gunman was named), left wing hate sites blaming Sarah and Rush et al for one of their murderous own. It’s always one of their own.
Yes, US for Palin is a "gun themed" site. If we're not locking and loading, or cocking and locking, we're reloading. We are not changing that for anyone.
