Sarah Palin: Passing The Buck Doesn’t “Plug the D#*! Hole”

Following is the complete transcript of Gov. Palin's Facebook Note on Obama's inaction pertaining to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill:

Nearly 40 days in, our President finally addressed the American people’s growing concerns about the Gulf Coast oil spill. Listening to today’s press conference, you’d think the administration has been working with single-minded focus on the Gulf gusher since the start of the disaster. In reality, their focus has been anything but singular to help solve this monumental problem.

If the President really was fully focused on this issue from day one, why did it take nine whole days before the administration asked the Department of Defense for help in deploying equipment needed for the extreme depth spill site?

Why was the expert group assembled by Energy Commissioner Steven Chu only set up three weeks after the start of this disaster?

Why was Governor Jindal forced more than a month after the start of the disaster to go on national television to beg for materials needed to tackle the oil spill and for federal approval to build offshore sand barriers that are imperative to protect his state’s coastline?

Why was no mention of the spill made by our President for days on end while Americans waited to hear if he grasped the import of his leadership on this energy issue?

Why have several countries and competent organizations who offered help or expertise in dealing with the spill not even received a response back from the Unified Area Command to this day?

The President claimed that “this notion that somehow the federal government is somehow sitting on the sidelines and for the last three or four or five weeks we’ve just been letting BP make a whole bunch of decisions is simply not true.” But, in fact, that is how U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Thad Allen described the Obama administration’s approach to this crisis: “We keep a close watch.”

Listening to the President, you get the impression he is continually surprised by the inability of various centralized government agencies to get more involved and help solve problems. His lack of executive experience might explain this because he is apparently unaware that it’s his job as a chief executive to make sure they do their jobs and help solve problems.

The fundamental problem at the core of this crisis is a lack of responsibility. (I risk the President taking my comments personally, but they’re not intended to be personal; my comments reflect what many others feel, and we just want to help him tackle this enormous spill problem.) There’s a culture of buck-passing at the heart of this administration that has caused the tragedy of a sunken oil rig to turn into a potential disaster.

The 1990 Oil Pollution Act was drafted in response to the Exxon-Valdez spill in my home state. It created new procedures for offshore cleanups, specifically putting the federal government in charge of such operations. The President should have used the authority granted by the OPA – immediately – to take control of the situation. That is a big part of what the OPA is for – to designate who is in charge so finger-pointing won’t disrupt efforts to just “plug the d#*! hole.” But instead of immediately engaging with this crisis, our President chose to spend precious time on political pet causes like haranguing the state of Arizona for doing what he himself was supposed to do – secure the nation’s border. He also spent much time fundraising and politicking for liberal candidates and causes while we waited for him to grasp the enormity of the Gulf spill.

Now that the American people are calling him out on his lack of engagement with this disaster, the buck-passing is in full swing – and, unbelievably, his administration is still looking to blame his predecessor. Amazingly, even those of us who support energy independence for America are the brunt of some buck-passing.

He suggested today that a “culture of corruption” at the U.S. Minerals Management Service (MMS) was solely the previous administration’s responsibility and that the failure of the inspection system was a failure of that administration. That is false. The MMS has been his responsibility since January 20, 2009.

The MMS director who resigned today, Elizabeth Birnbaum, was appointed by his administration. And the most recent inspection of the oil rig took place a mere 10 days before the explosion – also very much on his watch, not President Bush’s.

The President is also now attempting to somehow distance himself from his administration’s recent decision to open a few areas of the continental shelf to oil and gas exploration. That’s unfortunate because America desperately needs our domestic oil and natural gas. We rely on it for our prosperity, security, and freedom. The President’s decision to open a few areas to offshore exploration was the right decision then; and unlike his quickly evolving position on energy development now, I continue to believe it’s the right decision today – because energy independence is in the long-term economic and security interests of the United States.

As I explained in an article in National Review last year, conventional sources like natural gas “can act as a clean ‘bridge fuel’ to a future when more renewable sources are available.” I do not, as the President mistakenly believes, think we can “drill, baby, drill” our way out of all of our troubles. As I have consistently stated, we need an “all of the above” approach to energy independence that combines conventional drilling with energy conservation and renewable-energy development. My record in Alaska clearly shows my commitment to this “all of the above” approach. Over 20 percent of Alaska’s electricity currently comes from renewable sources. As governor, I put forward a long-term plan to increase that figure to 50 percent by 2025, which is the most ambitious renewable energy target in the nation. I take great pride in helping to make Alaska, in the words of the New York Times, “a Frontier for Green Power,” even as we continue to embrace the need to “drill, baby, drill” at the same time.

Alaska can be that frontier for renewable energy only because our conventional oil and gas reserves provide us with “a bridge” to a greener energy future. In fact, Alaska has enough reserves of both oil and gas to help the United States cross that bridge – if only we are allowed to drill!

Please, Mr. President, hear me on this, if nothing else: if it’s your administration’s decision to suspend the leases of new oil field developments off the coast of Alaska in response to the Gulf’s deepwater spill, and you still remain committed to locking up ANWR and other oil-rich lands, please know you are making a mistake. Unless we continue to drill here and drill now, we risk digging ourselves deeper into the hole created by our continued dependence on foreign energy – which often comes from regimes that care nothing for our prosperity or security, and even less for global environmental safety.

We need affordable, reliable, secure, environmentally-sound, and domestically-produced energy, but this administration continues to lock up federal land filled with huge energy reserves. If there is to be a moratorium on offshore development, then it’s time we stop ignoring our safest options for domestic development – places like ANWR and NPR-A in my home state of Alaska.

And it’s time for the administration to stop passing the buck and get control of the disaster in the Gulf. There’s a reason why Harry Truman had that famous sign on his desk. The “buck stops” with the occupant of the Oval Office. When the American people elected President Obama they gave him responsibility to handle this disaster. He promised to “heal the earth, and watch the waters recede...” or something far-fetched like that. It was unbelievable then, it’s impossible now, but what I believe he meant was that he promised to be held accountable. With all due respect, Mr. President, you have a huge job in front of you. We hope you’re learning. Please learn that we must have domestic energy development, you must stop looking backward and blaming Bush, and we must all work together to “plug the d#*! hole.”

Analysis:

Ronald Reagan once said "let there be bold differences, no pale pastels." The difference between Obama and Gov. Palin could not be more stark. He has been remarkably absent on this issue, and has demonstrated absolutely no leadership. Instead, he plays the blame game, fobbing the issue off to an administration that has been out of office now for 15 months. He is reverting to the same failed policies of the last four decades.

The solution is not to stop drilling. One of the first lessons we learn in life is came when we fell off our bikes as children. We didn't throw our bikes in the garbage and run home crying. We got up, dusted ourselves off, got back on the bike and learned to balance ourselves better. In this case, it appears BP took a grave shortcut, which led to the explosion and subsequent leak.

Sarah Palin: America Speaks Out!

Following is the complete transcript of Gov. Palin's Facebook Note on a new website for people to make their voices heard on issues that affect them:

Here’s a great forum for those who believe it’s time to stand up and be heard! From the tea party movement to the town halls, we’ve seen Americans rise up and make their voices heard. From the bailouts to the wasteful stimulus spending bill to the $2.5 trillion health care take over, Washington stopped listening to us average everyday hardworking Americans... so we’re doing something about that.

Today a new website was launched to change the situation!

Led by Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives, a new project is now launched called “America Speaking Out” which is aimed at giving us a direct role in putting together a new policy agenda for our country based on the principles of smaller, more accountable government.

Kick 'er When She's Up, Kick 'er When She's Down

When it comes to mainstream media reportage on Gov. Palin, the Don Henley classic "Dirty Laundry" could not be more apropos. The closing lyric to Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" is,

We can do the innuendo, we can dance and sing
When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing
We all know that crap is king, give us dirty laundry

For most of the media "crap is king," when writing stories about Gov. Palin. Editorializing in news stories is the principal reason why we refer to the "lamestream" media as such. A blatant example of this is an AFP article written by Andrew Gully, headlined "Palin accuses Obama of being in bed with big oil".

Obama and Big Oil

The headline implies that Gov. Palin is making a false accusation. Gov. Palin stated the facts on the Chris Wallace Show, and on Twitter. BP did in fact make a $77K donation to the Obama campaign, which is indeed the largest donation of the $3.5 million the company has made to federal candidates in the past 20 years.

According to Cassandra LaRussa, who wrote, "BP Enjoys Lobbying Strength, Close Ties to Lawmakers as Federal Investigation Looms," on Open Secrets, only ConocoPhilips has lobbied more extensively than BP. This connection could explain Obama's interest in Alaska's gas pipelines.

Gov. Palin correctly indicated a strong correlation between BP's lobbying and donations to candidate Obama, and his administration's slow response to the Horizon Deepwater tragedy.

Three Lies in One Paragraph

In his closing paragraphs, Gully wrote,

"Palin, who quit the Alaska governorship after serving less than half of one term, famously promoted the slogan "Drill, baby, drill!" that rallied supporters while dismissing possible environmental impact of off-shore drilling."

Lie No. 1 Figures Don't Lie, but Liars can Figure

Truth: Gov. Palin served almost two thirds of her term, not "less than half"

The "quit the governorship" meme is a typical Alinsky-esque Obama talking point. Gov. Palin served 31 months out of the four years (48-months), which is 64.58% of her term. Even if we accept the notion that Gov. Palin "quit," 64.58% is 14.58% more than half. We do not expect reporters to do differential equations, but accurate simple arithmetic is not too much to ask. The clause; therefore, about "serving less than half of one term" is pure, unadulterated baloney.

Lie No. 2 - The "Quitter" Meme

Truth: Palin Administration's Agenda was Accomplished when She Left Office

Most importantly, her administration accomplished every goal on its agenda within those 31 months. I challenge anyone to find a governor of any state in our lifetimes who accomplished what she has in 31 months.

The number, size, scale, scope, and frequency of accomplishments of the Palin-Parnell administration from 2006 through 2008 and 2009 is a record that cannot be beat.

Frivolous Ethics Complaints and FOIA Requests

Any news person who follows Gov. Palin knows or should know why she left office after 31 months: a barrage of frivolous ethics complaints and FOIA requests tied up her entire administration and ground work to a halt. Gov. Palin was personally liable for defending against these complaints and had incurred over $500K in legal bills. Had she stayed in office, bankruptcy was a distinct possibility. The state had incurred over $2 million dollars in defending against these cases, and those costs were climbing. "Clinging to power" would have been a losing proposition for Alaska, its taxpayers, Gov. Palin and her family.

Transformational Leadership and Succession Planning

Leaving office as she did was not "quitting." It was the right thing to do under the circumstances. Gov. Palin is also an astute Transformational Leader and followed a key aspect of John Kotter's 8-Step Change Model to the letter:

"Create plans to replace key leaders of change as they move on. This will help ensure that their legacy is not lost or forgotten."

Gov. Palin's successor, Gov. Parnell is ensuring that Gov. Palin's agenda continues on. While Gov. Palin is a Transformational Leader, Gov. Parnell is more Transactional. She could not have picked a more perfect successor. It was this decision, made when Gov. Palin was a candidate that led to her being able to leave office and still have her agenda continue on. It is why, we at US 4 Palin support Sean Parnell for Alaska's Governor with Eddie Burke as his Lieutenant Governor.

Moving on When the Mission is Accomplished is a Trait of Transformational Leaders

From ChangingMinds.org:

Finally, Transformational Leaders, by definition, seek to transform. When the organization does not need transforming and people are happy as they are, then such a leader will be frustrated. Like wartime leaders, however, given the right situation they come into their own and can be personally responsible for saving entire companies.

Having achieved her mission, there would have been little point to Gov. Palin staying in office any longer than she did. As she said in her own farewell address, "only dead fish go with the flow." Her departure was also well-planned, and its timing could not have been more Providential.

When one closely analyzes her departure, staying in office would have been the real "quit," as Gov. Palin would have short-circuited her own future impact and relegated herself back to obscurity.

More Impact Without a Title

In her farewell address, Gov. Palin said she could have more impact without at title than with one. A cursory review of her accomplishments 10 months on supports her statement. Using Facebook and Twitter, she shaped the political debate on key issues such as Obamacare and cap-and-tax. She authored a best-seller, which was Number 1 for six weeks, and had a major book signing tour. Gov. Palin's second book is coming out this November 23. Her endorsements carry heavy weight as evidenced by the anger of non-endorsed candidates, and their supporters. She is a consultant on Fox News, has a special series with them, and is working on a Learning Channel series about her state. Gov. Palin is electrifying crowds of thousands in venues nationwide. People routinely travel thousands of miles, spend thousands of dollars, and endure extremely long wait times just to have a few seconds bonding time with her. Most only get to see her from afar.

Gov. Palin went from nearly being driven to bankruptcy to being a millionaire in mere months. With her Reagan-esque optimism, Gov. Palin turned bitter lemons into sweet, delicious lemonade. Gov. Palin throughout her life has demonstrated an uncanny ability to turn adversity about on its head and emerge stronger than before.

Lie No. 3: "Dismissing possible Environmental Impacts

Truth: Gov. Palin is a Steward to the Environment

The third lie Gully told in that paragraph was "dismissing possible environmental impact of off-shore drilling." Gov. Palin never did such a thing. In her most recent interview with Chris Wallace as covered by both Adrienne Ross and myself, Gov. Palin explained how she took on the big oil companies such as BP. She explained how her administration went after Exxon-Mobil to hold it accountable for the Exxon Valdez oil spill, which affected her husband's fishing business. Her handling of Exxon Valdez spill, which brought tremendous strife upon the state of Alaska is very well documented in Going Rogue: An American Life.

Conclusion

We expect this kind of trash reportage from amateur hate bloggers. Professional journalists should know better. Even if they don't particularly like Gov. Palin, their job is to accurately and truthfully document her record. Purposely understating the length of her term, using loaded words to describe her departure from office, diminishing her accomplishments, and printing blatant falsehoods about her environmental stewardship is nothing less than politically motivated, sexist slinging of the bull at a wall and hoping some of it sticks.

"We all know that crap is king. Give us dirty laundry."

Gov Palin Talks Rand Paul, Oil Drilling and Elections on Fox

Video retrieved from PalinTV

Governor Palin appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace to discuss Rand Paul, oil drilling and the the November 2010 mid-term elections. The broadcast re-aired several times today.

Rand Paul and the Civil Rights Act

The first question asked of Gov. Palin was her thoughts about Rand Paul's criticism of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and about the whole controversy surrounding his statements. "I think Rand Paul is right in his clarifications...He's right on when he says he is a supporter of civil rights. He's a supporter of civil rights and the Civil Rights Act. He would have marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. he said and he will oppose any efforts to diminish or erode away any aspects of the Civil Rights Act."

Gov. Palin continued that Paul was in an interview with someone who may have had an agenda. He is a libertarian conservative, and was discussing the impacts of the Civil Rights Act on the Constitution, but Gov. Palin reiterated that he supports civil rights and that legislation.

Wallace followed up by asking if Gov. Palin saw a similarity between this interview and how the media has handled her. "Yeah, absolutely! ...Don't assume that you can engage in a hypothetical discussion about Constitutional impacts with a reporter or a media personality who has an agenda, who may be prejudiced before they even get into the interview about what your answer may be....They're looking for that gotcha moment." Gov. Palin said, "I'm thankful he was given the opportunity to clarify his support for the Civil Rights Act."

Wallace asked, "Having said all that Governor, Rand Paul is a strong libertarian and even some conservatives have doubts about some of his positions," which Wallace then listed on screen. Paul wants Guantanamo Bay closed, the Patriot Act repealed, the Department of Education abolished, and subsidies to farmers ended, according to Wallace. "Does he carry his political philosophy too far? Shouldn't he tone it down especially in a campaign for the US Senate," Wallace asked.

"Well, I won't speak to each one of Rand Paul's positions, because no candidate is going to be the ideal or perfect candidate in any voter's mind. Rand Paul is not a perfect always-to-be-agreed with candidate. Nobody is. Rand Paul is a libertarian. He is clear in his libertarian leanings. He asks questions about implications as it applies to our Constitution, our economy, our society when a law is proposed and a law is enacted, and I think that more of those who serve in the Senate - and Rand we anticipate will be serving in
the Senate - should ask questions about the Constitutionality of policies that are proposed," she said.

On Off-Shore Drilling

Wallace changed the subject to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. "Millions of gallons of oil are continuing to spill into the Gulf of Mexico. You, of course are a big supporter of off-shore drilling. You popularized the term, 'drill baby drill.' Does this disaster give you any pause, Governor?" he asked.

"I am a big supporter of domestic extraction of the resources we are so reliant on versus relying on foreign sources of energy - relying and being beholding to regimes that can use energy as a weapon and that have less stringent environmental standards than we have. I am still a strong supporter of domestic energy supplies being extracted. Having said that, these oil companies have got to be held accountable when there is any kind of lax and preventative measures to result in a tragedy like we are seeing right now in the Gulf."

"Alaska has been through that. I've lived and worked through that Exxon Valdez oil spill. I know what it takes to hold these oil companies accountable and we need to see more of that, but we are still reliant on petroleum products, and oil and gas, and I'm a supporter of off-shore drilling, but also on-shore drilling. Maybe this is a lesson too for those who opposed safe domestic supplies being extracted on our shores and on the land like in ANWR and other areas of Alaska. Let us drill there where it is even safer than way off shore.

Wallace noted that Gov. Palin did go after the oil companies including BP during her administration and asked how she thought the Obama administration is handling the spill.

"The oil companies who have so supported President Obama in his campaign and are supportive of him now - I don't know why the question isn't asked by the mainstream media and by others - if there is any connection with the contributions made to President Obama and his administration and the support by the oil companies to his administration - if there is any connection there to President Obama taking so doggone long to get in there, to dive in there and grasp the complexity, the potential tragedy that we are seeing here in the Gulf of Mexico. Now if this was President Bush or a Republican in office who hadn't received this much support even as President Obama has from BP and other oil companies you know the mainstream media would be all over his case in terms of asking questions why the administration did not get in there, did not make sure the regulatory agencies...to make sure things like this don't happen."

On the Tuesday Elections

Wallace asked Gov. Palin to dicuss last Tuesday's primary elections in which Arlen Specter lost despite Obama's endorsement, and Republican Trey Grayson lost to Rand Paul in Kentucky. "Governor, what do you think voters in both parties were saying on Tuesday?"

"I think both parties - especially as reflected in PA-12 where the anti-Obama candidate registered as a Democrat he won - pro-life, pro-gun, anti-Obamacare - and he won. They're in a district where Democrats outnumber Republicans two to one." She said this was the voters saying, "we do not want to see that Obama, Pelosi, Reid agenda, that transformation of America continuing. We need to take some steps to stop it. It's also a message though with that victory there in PA-12 of the Democrat for Republicans for common-sense Constitutional conservatives to ride the momentum of the voters' desire for a change away from what Obama is doing to the country, but not to take anything for granted, not just assume that everyone on board even those Democrats who are quite conservative - a Reagan Democrat type...are not necessarily on board with all the changes that need to take place to stop this Obama administration's agenda."

Wallace asked if the the talk of a big GOP sweep in November is "overblown" given that a Democrat beat a Republican in PA-12.

Gov. Palin reiterated that this is a district where Democrats outnumber Republicans two to one. "Why wouldn't a life-time Democrat vote for the Democrat who was anti-Obama in the race. That just makes sense. This again speaks to the common-sense conservative who wants to see changes in our country to put government back on its side to not take any race for granted....now this is a temporary seat to replace Murtha. We'll see in November who will take the seat permanently."

Gov. Palin said Ann Coulter wrote an excellent piece in which she said Republicans have to work hard if they want to win these mid-term elections and cannot assume that they just will.

On Her Future

Wallace asked, "So far you've endorsed 15 candidates, you're traveling around the country to Republican events to TEA Party events...what's your game plan between now and November? What are you going to do? What do you hope to accomplish?"

"I'm going to keep this up. I'm going to keep out there talking to people, hearing from people - those who desire a less intrusive government in our businesses, our lives, in our family matters. I'm going to keep speaking with them and help to empower them to effect this change that is so needed in the midterms. It's a fun gig. It's a great thing to get to do to be across the country with my family to speak with these awesome Americans who are concerned about our country."

Wallace recalled that in Feb. Gov. Palin said she would consider running for President in 2012 if it were good for the country and her family. "Assuming the Republicans do well in November - your kind of Republican - would that push you more in the direction of making the run?"

"It really comes down to it not being about me or what I want or what I predict is going to happen. This is all about what the voters in America are in the mood for and if the voters in American are in the mood for an unconventional, candid, honest public servant, and it doesn't necessarily have to be me but if that's what they're in the mood for, they're going to let that be known. They're going to help propel and push that candidate forward and then that candidate will make the decision to run or not. Don't assume that's going to be me, Chris."

"It could be you," he responded.

"As I've always said, I'm not going to close any door that might be open, but this is not about me. I really appreciate the platform I've been given, the opportunities to be out there speaking to these good, hard-working average, everyday patriotic Americans who want to see the positive change they deserve," she concluded.

Palin: The Right Game Plan for Victory in America

Governor Palin today endorsed former SuperBowl star Clint Didier's candidacy for Washington state's US Senate seat. Didier is a Reagan Conservative, as delineated on the issues page of his website. Following is the complete text of Gov. Palin's brief Facebook Note announcing her endorsement of Didier:

I’m proud to support Clint Didier as he willingly puts it all on the line to serve Washington state in the U.S. Senate for all the right reasons! This selfless, inspiring commonsense constitutional conservative will help put our country on the right track.

Please visit Clint’s website here, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Let’s get behind #86!

Via SarahPAC, Gov. Palin has endorsed and supported candidates in numerous races for various offices nationwide, the most recent being Susana Martinez, for Governor of New Mexico, Carly Fiorina for Senator of California, and Rand Paul who yesterday won the Kentucky primary for that state's US Senate Seat. Gov. Palin has also come to the aid of various causes such as supporting Arizona's law to secure that state's border, disaster relief for Nashville's flood, and the Highland Park Girls Basketball Team.

Bristol Palin Signs Up to Speak Out

Bristol Palin told us some time ago that she wants the experiences she’s had in her own life to make a difference in the lives of others. She has begun making that difference by promoting abstinence. Sarah Palin: Barack Obama’s American Apology World Tour Continues
by Gary P. Jackson

Sarah Palin: "Still I can’t help but feel outraged on behalf of Arizona’s citizens for the incompetence shown by these Administration officials. Gov Palin: American Apology Tour Continues

Following is the complete transcript of Gov. Palin's Facebook Note, about the Obama administration's obsession with apologizing to the world about our exceptionalism:

On Fox News this morning, State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley became the third Obama administration official in short succession to admit that he hadn’t actually bothered to read Arizona’s 10-page long “secure the border” bill before condemning it and criticizing Americans who support Arizona’s necessary efforts to do the job the Obama Administration should be doing. Crowley’s statement follows similar admissions from Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.

At first blush this revelation seemed unbelievable, but maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. This now seems “the Washington way” of doing things. If the party in power tells us they have to pass bills in order to find out what’s actually in them, they can also criticize bills (and divide the country with ensuing rhetoric) without actually reading them.

Still I can’t help but feel outraged on behalf of Arizona’s citizens for the incompetence shown by these Administration officials. Arizonans have the courage to do what the Obama administration has failed to do in its first year and a half in office – namely secure our border and enforce our federal laws. And as a result, Arizonans have been subjected to a campaign of baseless accusations by the same people who freely admit they haven’t a clue about what they’re actually campaigning against.

The absolute low point of this campaign came last Friday, when a U.S. State Department delegation met with Chinese negotiators to discuss human rights. Apparently, our State Department felt it necessary to make their Chinese guests feel less bad about their own record of human rights abuses by repeatedly atoning for American “sins” – including, it seems, the Arizona immigration/pro-border security law. Asked if Arizona came up at all during the meeting, Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner answered:

“We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session, and as a troubling trend in our society and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination, and that these are issues very much being debated in our own society.”

Note that he said “We brought it up” – not the Chinese, but the U.S. State Department’s own delegation. Instead of grilling the Chinese about their appalling record on human rights, the State Department continued the unbelievable apology tour by raising “early and often” Arizona’s decision to secure our border.

Arizona’s law, which just mirrors the federal law, simply allows the police to ask those whom they have already stopped for some form of identification like a driver’s license. By what absurd stretch of the imagination is that the moral equivalent of China’s lack of freedoms, population controls (including forced abortions), censorship, and arbitrary detentions?

Surely our U.S. Ambassador to China, John Huntsman, must disagree with the Obama Administration’s continued apology tour? We have nothing to apologize for. If Administration officials want to apologize to anyone, apologize to the American people for the fact that after a year and a half in office, they still haven’t done anything to secure our borders, and they join our President in making false suggestions about Arizona’s effort.

- Sarah Palin

The differences between Gov. Palin and Obama could not be more stark. Just this morning I posted video and text of Gov. Palin's NRA Convention speech, which concluded, "We are America, God shed His grace on thee. We are the exceptional nation; we shall protect her; we will love her; we will follow her Constitution and will shall not apologize for being so proud of our country."

Providentially, today, Rev. Jeremiah Wright of "God---- America" infamy complained that Obama "threw me under the bus." To refresh everyone's memories, here is what Obama's pastor for 20 years - the man who baptized him and presided over his wedding - had to say about America:

On March 28, 2010, I posted an article questioning where Obama's loyalty lies, based on his associations and choice of Marxist reading materials. He compares Arizona's law to secure that state's borders to a regime that has a horrific human rights record. His administration apologizes for that state doing the job his administration is supposed to do.

Gov. Palin is Presidential. Obama is a complete, absolute, and utter disgrace to the office he holds.
