Happy Birthday, Todd Palin

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Today is Todd Palin's birthday.

If there is one thing Sarah Palin has made clear to everyone, it's the fact that the Palins are a team. Every success she has enjoyed is a success for the entire family. Todd Palin's unwavering support of his wife enables her to lead in this nation at a time when we need that leadership.

I remember meeting Todd for the first time in Auburn, NY. I said to him, "I just want to thank you for being so supportive of your wife and for having such quiet strength." I think you all know what I meant, but what I was saying was I appreciated his willingness to allow Sarah to be such an influence and his being secure enough in who he is not to stand in her way.

He responded by saying they were a team and that he does what's necessary to allow her to fulfill her purpose, and she allows him to fulfill his, as well. In other words, one role is no better than the other; they're in it together. That oneness is quite obvious.

Happy Birthday, Todd Palin. God bless you.

Here are pictures I took of Todd and Sarah in Auburn, NY on June 6, 2009.

She's Got IT

By Adrienne Ross from www.motivationtruth.com

Governor Palin's support continues to grow, which completely baffles those who never understood her support to begin with. After the media malpractice, after the bogus ethics complaints, even after Levi Johnston, she remains strong when much weaker souls would have been laid to rest by now. How is that possible? Keep reading.

I will always remember the first time a student came to my defense in class. Somebody said something disrespectful, and, before I could open my mouth, someone else said, "Don't be talking to Miss Ross like that!" Silence followed. That was the end of that--until the next time, of course.

That's when you know you've got it.

Now, I don't actually need my students to stand up for me because I do pretty well by myself. In fact, it's a good thing I didn't get a chance to respond--good for the student who uttered the disrespectful comment, that is. I don't take a lot of mess, nor do I have to. Overall my students have always loved and respected me, and I have very few behavioral problems. The reasons, I believe, are simple: I love and respect them first, they think I'm cool, and I can "bust 'em down" in basketball. That's my recipe for success! I'll add to that one more ingredient: I was in a staffing with a parent who relayed the story of why his child said he never gave me trouble, though he gave other teachers trouble. According to this parent, his son said, "'Cause Miss Ross will knock me out!" Nice mix of respect and fear there, I suppose (though I'd never do that!). I say all that to say I can clearly handle myself.

True authority, however, is revealed when I don't have to.

To this day, I have no recollection of what the first student uttered, just that he was put in his place rather quickly by his classmate. Now, I don't advocate students being aggressive with other students, but I do believe that harmless positive peer pressure goes a long way. Because one student came to my aid, I could get on with the business at hand without taking the time to deal with nonsense, saving myself for bigger issues that really need my attention.

I was thinking of this in light of Governor Palin. Some don't understand why so many of us speak up and fight back when we hear her being smeared by the likes of the mainstream media, anklebiters on the Left and the Right, and even her daughter's ex-fiance'. "What's with all these people," some say, "these bloggers, these activists, these supporters, and why won't Palin herself address every allegation thrown at her?" We all know she can handle herself, so why doesn't she deal with every single issue? The answer is simple: she doesn't have to.

See, most of the attacks against Governor Palin are like the comment in my classroom: distractions meant to take her attention from what's important, slurs and accusations intended to sting and bite, and all-out attacks with the hopes of sparking a fiery retort so the process can continue. And for what? To wear her down.

Each year I get new students, several of whom would say in a heartbeat, "We got your back, Miss Ross." Now, they know good and well I'm no pushover and certainly no punk. However, dealing with every individual about every comment is a waste of everyone's time, and it doesn't accomplish anything. Students who speak up, out of respect for who I am and what I represent, allow me to just keep on steppin'-- never missing a beat, never being sidetracked, never wasting energy.

Then, when something big arises, I'll use that reserved energy to deal with it.

Governor Palin, too, has plenty of opportunities to decide to speak or to be silent, to defend herself or to keep on steppin'. More often than not, wisdom tells her to keep on steppin'--and that's when we step up. That, I suppose, is part and parcel of the "online footprint" first written about here and then commented on here and here. She doesn't need to ask anyone to have her back. Before she turns around, we're already there--just as my student addressed his peer before I could even open my mouth. We're there on Twitter, on Facebook, on our blogs, on talk radio. Everywhere you turn, we're there, so she doesn't have to fight every single battle because we're fighting for her.

Again, that's true authority. That's when you've got it, and today, more than ever, public servants need it--and they need a whole lot of it. The more we can step in the ring and throw some punches and block some unfair hits for them--and the more of us who do so--the more strength people like Governor Palin can reserve for the bigger battles.

If Obama Can Come to School on September 8th, Gov. Palin Can Come on the 9th

By Adrienne Ross from www.motivationtruth.com

I've known for several months now that it's time for a new profession for me. I'm not sure how long I can last as a teacher with the indoctrination going on in our schools. I can't take it, can't keep my mouth closed, and this year, I believe, I can't avoid trouble.

President Obama will speak to our nation's children on September 8th. Is this the result of a true concern for America's youth, or is it about promoting his agenda? As a teacher, I'm sure I know--and I'd sure like to hear from Governor Palin via her Facebook page.

On the one hand, it makes sense that the President of the United States would speak to kids to impress upon them the value of education. He holds the highest office in the land, and with that comes a level of respect. Simply because of that perhaps some kid will say, "President Obama wants me to succeed, so I've got to try really hard." If that's what this is really all about, that's fine. But things are never that simple with this administration.

Always there's an agenda.

It seems not only does the president want to take over the car industry, the banking industry, and the health care industry, now he wants to take over the classroom. The reason is simple. The classroom is a good place to take over the minds of our children, to indoctrinate them--as if enough of that is not being done already in our public schools. President Obama's September 8th address is not just about taking on the noble task of encouraging our students to succeed. No, lesson plans and worksheets have actually been prepared for activities before, during, and after the address.

A "Go get 'em, kids. We believe in you" speech is one thing. Full-blown lesson plans that ask students to read books about "presidents and Barack Obama," "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president," and answer questions such as, "Why is it important that we listen to the President?" is another.

I smell a rat.

As Megyn Kelly pointed out on Fox this morning, which you can see in this video clip, imagine if teachers had forced students to read books about--and discuss helping in the goals of--President Bush or Vice President Cheney. All you-know-what would have hit the fan. Taking it a step further, imagine if, in the interest of being fair-minded during the 2008 election, teachers had required students to read Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned the Political Establishment Upside Down. There would have been an outcry because it would have gone against the agenda of the teachers' unions and the vast majority of educators.

Look, I'm not somebody on the outside looking in. I've been teaching in the same public school in upstate, NY for fourteen years, and the left-wing agenda has never been so obvious to me as it was this past school year. If you think that fair and balanced teaching goes on in all classrooms, think again. I'm not saying that every single teacher is involved in Democrat indoctrination. I'm not even saying most teachers are, but I am saying it happens--too often. You listen to kids long enough, you find out what goes on and you learn the anti-Bush, anti-Palin, anti-conservative sentiments being expressed.

After Obama won the election, my school went crazy. Leading up to the inauguration, the school decided we were going to show it live to every student. Now, I was sick to my stomach because I just didn't want to watch it, but I did believe that it should be shown, so I prepared myself to grit my teeth, suck it up, and just get through it--which I did. The problem was what went down leading up to that day--and for weeks afterward.

Let me run you through a day at school leading up to the inauguration: walk into the building; go to my mailbox; find lesson plans about Obama to use with students that were placed in my box; leave plans in my box (I did not do them!); walk down the hall where there were Obama posters on my left and right--posters about Change, Hope, and all that rhetoric he was talking during the campaign; listen to morning announcements with some quote from Obama right before the Pledge of Allegiance (everyday); go to library and see books about Obama displayed; after school go home and check email; in email find suggestions from ELA professionals about how to incorporate inauguration activities into lessons; read email with information about different seminars and workshops teachers can attend about the inauguration.

Now, I am not a confrontational person for the most part. I'm easy to get along with, and I pick my battles. But this was one battle I had to pick, and this is one reason I know it's got to be time for me to move on. When I got the email from an ELA consultant which she sent to the entire district, including the superintendent and principals, I hit Reply All and wrote, "I might take these professionals more seriously if they had shown the same passion for our kids and commitment to our nation four years prior when George Bush was re-elected." I ended the short email with, "Sorry, but this just reminds me of the media bias that was displayed throughout the election and continues to this day." I know I ruffled some liberal feathers, but I didn't care. The hypocrisy was glaring, and it needed to be addressed.

When I got an email from the assistant principal detailing the manner in which we would handle watching the inauguration ceremony, I emailed him back with a short note that basically said, "I hope you show the same enthusiasm in four years when Sarah Palin is elected president!" When I saw him later, he admitted that "teachers tend to be Democrats, as am I, but if your girl [Governor Palin] gets in in 2012, I'll be sure we do the same thing." My response? "Well, my boy, Bush, got in four years ago, and we didn't do anything!"

During the campaign, I always informed the students about the upcoming debates, we always discussed them afterwards, and we remained up to date on the campaign. On election day, students checked off where they personally stood on various issues without being told where the candidates stood on those same issues until after the discussion. I prepared a PowerPoint presentation of all four nominees talking about where they stood on each of those issues. Then we had a classroom vote. That's fair and balanced instruction.

Later, when the TEA parties rose up, students would come to my class from another subject--where they were being indoctrinated--complaining about these "stupid" demonstrations. I, of course, was quick to nip it in the bud, and one might say I did some indoctrinating of my own--or was it just deprogramming? Needless to say, it did lead to some interesting classroom discussions. My message to my students was simple: "Whatever you believe, be sure you understand the issues, make sure it's what you believe, and know why you believe what you do-- because this is your country."

See, I don't have a problem with having our students seeing an inauguration. They should see it. I don't have a problem with them hearing from the President of the United States at the start of the school year. Hopefully, a president can inspire. My problem is with the Left-wing agenda so often displayed in the public school. My problem is with the president asking students to figure out how they can help him. My problem is with a teacher telling a student that the reason some people didn't vote for Barack Obama is because they're racist, as one teacher told her class. When her daughter came home and told her mom, a friend of mine, her mom had to call the teacher and ask her, "Why would you tell my child that? My husband and I didn't vote for him, and we're not racist. We didn't vote for him because he's a radical abortionist!" The teacher was left hemming and hawing.

My point is that some teachers are already indoctrinating students. How much farther will this go with the president's September 8th speech and his request that teachers have their kids figure out how to help him? Too far, I'm afraid.

Save Our Country has urged parents to keep their children home that day. They call it National Skip Day. I can't say I blame them. Some parents throughout the nation are already up in arms about the president's agenda. They don't send their children to school to figure out how to help a president whose policies they may deeply disagree with. They send their kids to school to get an education.

Save Our Country even drafted a letter for parents to give their children's schools to explain their absence:

Absence Excuse Suggestion:

To Whom it May Concern:

When it comes to teaching my child about personal responsibility and life goals, I have determined that I am a far better teacher of those objectives than a President who has chosen to surround himself with known anarchists and terrorists.

Therefore, insert child's name, will be at home on Sept 8th in order not to be corrupted by the propaganda that will be shown in his class room.

Respectfully Yours,

I think Obama has his hands full running the car, banking, and health care businesses. I would prefer he stay out of my classroom. But in the spirit of being fair and balanced, I say this: If I'm ever required to make my students gather around the screen to watch an Obama speech about how they can embrace and promote his agenda, they'd better be prepared for me to also gather my students around to read Governor Palin's Facebook page when she comes out swinging against one of his dangerous policies.

As you can see, my days are numbered!

Providential: Dr. Seuss Predicted Sarah Palin's Career?

For those of you who have not yet seen it, you might want to check out the very well-written LOTUS Blog, which is written as if it were Governor Palin's laptop speaking. One entry Oh the Places We Will Go was providential and has a special significance for Governor Palin vis-à-vis her accomplishments. The blog author "Whitney the Pipsqueak" was writing about Governor Palin's forthcoming trip to Hong Kong to speak at the CLSA Investors' Forum, but the choice of headline is quite significant.

Theodor Seuss Giesel, 87 under the well-known pseudonym of "Dr. Seuss" wrote Oh the Places You'll Go! in 1990. Places was his final gift, ending a long and distinguished career as a childrens' book author -- Dr. Seuss died shortly thereafter. I distilled the book in a May 21, 1992 article for the Times-Ledger chain of weekly newspapers in northeast Queens.

I was 22 at the time...Governor -- then Ordinary Citizen -- Palin was 27. I had just left the Airport Press a few months earlier to be an office manager/LAN administrator at NYU's Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. My journalism career was drawing to its end, leading me to information technology. At the time my distillation was written, Sarah Palin's political career was just beginning! At that time, she was working on her husband's fishing boat, she had been a sportscaster and a hockey mom on the PTA. Governor Palin has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, just as I do. She was using hers, likely at the same time as I was using mine....

Seeing that entry on the LOTUS, and knowing approximately when I wrote the distillation, I had to re-read that book and find that article. Getting the book was easy, as it resides in my bookshelf, given to me when I wrote the story. Finding the article required a trip to the basement and down memory lane as I first had to find the box which contained my old articles and photos. Click the photos to see the full-sized text, scanned following my re-emergence from the basement an hour later.

Better yet, get a copy of Places. I was transfixed when I re-read it. I felt as if Dr. Seuss had written this book for Sarah Palin, though he actually wrote it for all of humanity. He wrote, "You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights! You'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights" (Giesel, 1990, p. 12). Dr. Seuss continued, "You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed. You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you'll be the best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest" (Giesel, 1990, p. 14).

My rally sign used in Bethlehem, PA, says "SuperSonic Sarah. Smashing Glass Ceilings from Above." My tribute video bears the same title. Maybe Dr. Suess was on to something? Of course, he did not know who Citizen Palin was -- and never would. But he did not have to....

Anyone who has lived at least to early childhood knows life is not always about high altitude, high-speed flight, and Dr. Seuss wrote about life's dark moments in Places. He described what it is like to be stuck in a lurch, to be lonely, and set upon by vicious enemies (frivolous ethics complaints anyone?). Several pages of Places describe that combination of limbo and purgatory Dr. Seuss called "The Waiting Place." He further delineated some of life's most painful and anguishing waits. Governor Palin has experienced all of the foregoing to be sure.

The book ends on a triumphant note. "Kid...you'll move mountains," (Seuss, 1990, p. 41) he concluded. Her gas pipeline to be completed in 2019 could be said to be moving mountains quite literally -- blasting through them. More figuratively, Sarah Palin has moved mountains in her 17-year political career, and we at Accomplishments strongly believe she has many more to move and a glass ceiling to smash.

"Whitney the Pipsqueak" could not have chosen a headline more apropos, and more providential for that entry announcing Governor Palin's forthcoming trip to Hong Kong. Oh the Places We Will Go indeed!

Sarah Palin: For Such a Time as That, For Such a Time as THIS

By Adrienne Ross from www.motivationtruth.com

A year ago today, Governor Sarah Palin delivered what will go down in history as one of the best speeches--ever. More than 40 million people watched as she proved that she was not only ready for the big stage, but could dominate it.

One year later, Sarah Palin is one of the most sought-after speakers, having to decline a plethora of requests from people and organizations who recognize and appreciate the substance found within her eloquence.

Did you know that at the beginning of her speech, the teleprompter died? She never missed a beat, did she? She has a God-given gift and speaks from the heart, making it all seem so easy.

On August 29, 2008, when John McCain introduced Sarah Palin to the world, we figured she was something special. On September 3rd, we knew she was. And today, we haven't changed our minds. We needed her then. We need her now. She has emerged as a leader at a time when this nation is begging for one. She has emerged..."for such a time as this."

Rewatch the speech that earned her the praise of the world:

Ethics Charges of Former Gov. Plain's, Communication Director Bill McAllister... DROPPED!

HAHAHHA! Andree McLoed... how do you like the fact your Ethics Complaint concerning Bill McAllister was dropped.

It was Frivolous! There was no merit!

Rishi on Eddie Burke KBYR just issued a report that the ethics complaint was dropped. More to come when information is available.

UPDATE:

Per ADN.com

A report from the state Department of Law recommending dismissal of the complaint concluded no evidence was found that state ethics law was violated.
The grievance was among six filed by Anchorage resident Andree McLeod against Palin or her staff. Five have been dismissed and one is pending.

Do you think it ironic that ADN is posting this as they also have McLoed as a write on their paper?

Resurrection and Carrying the Torch

Michael Reagan, "Welcome Back Dad" Excerpt:

I’ve been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we’d never see his like again because he was one of a kind (Reagan, 2008, ¶1).

I was wrong (Reagan, 2008, ¶2)!

"Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she (Reagan, 2008, ¶3).

And what a she (Reagan, 2008, ¶4)!

In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my Dad’s indomitable spirit and sent it soaring above the convention center, shooting shock waves through the cynical media’s assigned spaces and electrifying the huge audience with the kind of inspiring rhetoric we haven’t heard since my Dad left the scene (Reagan, 2008, ¶5).

Commentary

A year ago today at the twenty second hour and the thirtieth minute Eastern Daylight Time, our yearning for a great leader to bring the Republican Party back home to its basic principles was answered. Someone at the GOP knew this, for Governor Sarah Palin had a countdown timer running throughout the RNC convention until her speech began. The Presidential candidate did not, but he may have realized win or lose that she was his final gift and final act of sacrifice for our nation.

Since that time, Governor Palin accomplished at the conclusion of her term what 50 years of successive administrations in other states could only dream of. Her brainchild, the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act began the process of morphing a 30-year-old pipe-dream into a real pipeline to be completed by 2019. Governor Palin did not just say nice words about energy independence. Her actions made AGIA arguably the pinnacle of her career and will likely result in an accomplishment beyond the scale and scope achieved even by presidents.

Most recently, she was summoned and passed her Time of Choosing. Two weeks later, using nothing more than a laptop and FaceBook, she changed legislation and altered political discourse. That history is simultaneously repeating itself and being made could not be clearer....

Washington Speakers Bureau Confirmed

News reports that Governor Palin has retained the Washington Speakers Bureau exclusively to handle her commercial speaking ventures are correct and verified true (Speakers, 2009, ¶1).

Commentary

This is a significant accomplishment item for Governor Palin on many levels. First, no ordinary individual can sign up with a speaker's bureau. A speaker must have some cachet that will bring the bureau revenue. A person who earns a substantial honorarium must be an expert in oral communication. Despite claims by her enemies, Governor Palin is an expert speaker, and the Washington Speakers Bureau recognizes her expertise. Governor Palin has more than earned this honor.

Her association with this bureau also reflects Sarah Palin's recognition that the high volume of invitations she has received warrants a staff whose profession is speaking events management. The role of SarahPAC after all is to be a Political Action Committee. Involvement with all the details pertaining to even one invitation distracts from a PAC's core function. Retaining the Washington Speaker's Bureau was a wise decision.

Finally, the top flight speaking engagements Governor Palin will conduct via the Washington Speakers Bureau will give her more global experience. The forthcoming speech in Hong Kong is just one example of this and could be a defining moment in her career. As Gary P. Jackson spent considerable time in his entry, and as was documented soon after the inception of Accomplishments, Governor Palin already has significant foreign policy and foreign trade experience. Meetings with foreign dignitaries were routine for her. As previously documented, Alaska had $3.6 billion in exports and that was considered a "bad year." Anchorage is the midpoint on air routes to places such as Hong Kong, and Tokyo. This speaking engagement will give Governor Palin foreign trade experience -- from Hong Kong's perspective. She will gain first-hand knowledge of another culture, language and customs that simply does not come alive from binders and books. Each carefully chosen engagement in a foreign country will give her that country's perspective.

Hong Kong is especially fitting, for it is a Special Administrative Region in the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong works so well that Communist China left that city's capitalist system intact! This speaks volumes as to the stark difference between Governor Palin and the current tenant of the White House, who is an unabashed Marxist.

Each engagement is preparatory work for doing something she is used to doing, but on a much larger scale. A governor after all is essentially President, CEO, and Commander-in-Chief of a state. With her retention of the Washington Speakers Bureau and these speaking engagements, Governor Palin will be even more prepared to be President Palin.....

Confirmed: Sarah Palin To Be Keynote Speaker At CLSA Investor's Forum In Hong Kong

by Gary P. Jackson

Yes, I know, I am a tad late, but, as is policy, we don’t talk about Sarah Palin’s schedule unless Sarah or her spokeswoman, Meg Stapleton, has verified that Sarah is indeed going somewhere.

There are just too many flaky promoters using Sarah’s name to sell tickets, without a verification from Sarah, who then try to blame her when she doesn’t show at an event she had never committed to in the first place. So we are not going to help them with that scam.

As we reported earlier, Sarah has almost 1100 invitations to speak at events, both paid and unpaid. Her attorney, Robert Bennett, announced this week that she is almost finished writing her book, so is now accepting invitations. Sarah will speak to various groups on a variety of issues that matter to America, and the world.

Sarah will also be speaking on behalf conservative candidates that share her vision for America, as well as for various charities, like those who support special needs children, and the military and their families.

Sarah will be speaking in Hong Kong at the CLSA Investor’s Forum, an annual conference of global investment managers. Previous speakers at the event include President Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, and Al Gore. The forum is sponsored by the CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets.

Their company spokeswoman Simone Wheeler said in a statement:

"Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics,".

"We just felt it would be a fabulous opportunity for CLSA clients to hear from Mrs. Palin," Wheeler said, adding that CLSA approached Sarah with the offer.

Those who follow Sarah Palin know she has a lot of foreign trade experience to draw from. Obviously, Palin worked close with the Canadian government to put together her signature achievement, the natural gas pipeline, but she has had many dealings with nations throughout the South Pacific as well as Russia and Canada.

Back in January of this year, as part of the big kick off to Alaska’s 50th birthday celebration, Sarah hosted a large contingent of dignitaries including Sergey Kislyak, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, who was making his first visit to Alaska.

Ambassador Kislyak proclaimed:

"I am so pleased to be here this weekend. As discussed in my meeting with Governor Palin, it is encouraging to note the similarities between Alaska and the Russian Far East. Our existing commercial connections and the mutually beneficial nature of our professional partnerships can only help provide a measure of stability as, together, we face the global economic challenges that lie ahead."

Others attending the event were Yuri Gerasin, Consul General of the Russian Federation; Julian Evans, British Consul General; John Mataira, Consul General of New Zealand; Balazs Bokor, Consul General of Hungary; Sten Arne Rosnes, Consul General of Norway; Haryong Lee, Consul General of Korea; Fred Santos, Consul of The Philippines; Mel Knight, Alberta's Minister of Energy; Marvin Schneider, Alberta's Executive Director of the U.S. and Americas; and Haijun Wang, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of China's Heilongjiang Province. Mr. Wang is leading a four-person delegation from Heilongjiang Province, a sister province to Alaska, and China's northernmost region.

Members of the Alaska consular corps also participating in the weekend events were: Karen Matthias, of Canada; Hideo Fujita, of Japan; Hee-chul Kim, of South Korea; and Jose Luis Cuevas, of Mexico. They will be joined by honorary consuls of the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Seychelles, and Norway.

Obviously, we are happy to see that Sarah is starting to accept speaking engagements. This is a very great way for her to get her message out to the world, make a lot of new friends, and build relationships.

It’s a good to remember that many leaders do this. Former Vice President Richard Nixon, after losing to John Kennedy in 1960, went on the speaking circuit and used that to propel him into the White House, and the great Ronald Reagan was a prolific speaker taking many engagements both before he became Governor of California as well as afterward. This helped Reagan become President of the United States, as well.

Below is the press release from the CLSA:

Hong Kong, 31 August 2009 - CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, Asia's leading independent brokerage and investment group, will host the former Governor of Alaska and Republican vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, in her first international speaking engagement outside North America.

Palin will address CLSA clients and delegates in a keynote speech at the 16th CLSA Investors’ Forum to be held in Hong Kong from 21-25 September. Palin joins a list of noted global leaders including Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Alan Greenspan who have chosen the CLSA Investors’ Forum as their platform of choice to reach global institutional fund managers and CEO’s of Asia’s leading listed corporations.

CLSA Chairman and CEO Jonathan Slone said: "As the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person ever elected governor of that state, Palin has broken new ground in US politics and we are delighted that she will make her first visit to Asia to present at the CLSA Investors’ Forum."

"CLSA consistently sets the benchmark for original and thought-provoking content, and aims to present global political and industry leaders whose policies and platforms have influenced global markets."

Joining Palin, are more than 40 keynote and specialist speakers including Niall Ferguson, Harvard professor and author of the bestseller The Ascent of Money; Robert Fisk, Middle east correspondent for The Independent and one of the few Western journalists to have interviewed Osama bin Laden; Sir Ken Robinson author of The Element: How finding your passion changes everything; Satyajit Das author of Traders, Guns and Money; David Roche, economic and political analyst; and Marc Faber, investment contrarian and author of Tomorrow’s Gold.

Now in its 16th year, the CLSA Investors’ Forum is Asia’s premier investment conference providing unrivalled corporate access to 1300 global fund managers from 32 countries, representing more than US$10trillion in funds under management. Over five days, they meet with more than 400 CEOs and CIOs of Asia’s leading listed corporations in 2500 group and private meetings.
